Pfarrkirche Pöllau

Geschichte und Kunst:

Die Kirche wurde 1163 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Im 17. Jh. wurde sie neu aufgebaut, Baumeister war Joachim Carlone. Das Altarbild (1779) stammt von Josef Adam Mölck und zeigt den hl. Vitus. Die Kanzel wurde 1775 von Jakob Peyer geschaffen. Die malerische Raumausstattung stammt von Mathias von Görz. Zentrales Thema des Deckengemäldes im Langhaus ist die Verehrung des apokalyptischen Lammes.
